Release support for small iOS teams

A careful second check on every iOS release.

I build and maintain my own apps on the App Store. For teams that already have engineers and ship regularly, I review the flows that matter on a fixed build, fix what we scope together, and carry the checklist into your next release.

01 — WORK

Apps I build and maintain

My own products, not client projects. Each links to its App Store listing so you can check the details and version history yourself.

TingXieXie app icon

TingXieXie · 听写写

iPhone and iPad · Education · since 2018

An English dictation and review app. Learners turn a photo, pasted text or typed words into practice lists, then work through dictation, listening and spelling. Mistakes come back for review.

WHAT I DO

  • Design, build and maintain the native iOS app
  • Ship releases through TestFlight and App Store Connect
  • Maintain the subscriptions and lifetime unlock, including restore
Pop Blocks app icon

Pop Blocks: Tap & Relax Puzzle

iPhone and iPad · Game · since 2015

A calm tap-to-clear block puzzle with Game Center leaderboards and consumable in-app purchases, in English and Simplified Chinese.

Relevant: keeping an app from 2015 current. Version 1.5.1 (Aug 2026) stopped a rating prompt appearing after leaderboard activity and tightened when share rewards are granted.

Router Recovery app icon

Router Recovery: TFTP Utility

Mac · Utilities · since 2026

Walks through router firmware recovery using the path that matches the device, instead of treating every router as the same TFTP case.

Relevant: how I treat evidence. A finished upload counts as one step, not proof of recovery, and the app exports a local evidence file without IP addresses, device identifiers or credentials.

BatchMeta app icon

BatchMeta: Photo Keywords

iPhone · iOS 27 · Photo & Video

A native iOS app for batch editing photo keywords, captions and ratings in the Photos library, with a review step before changes are applied.

TestFlight beta approved · Submitted to the App Store, waiting for review · Not yet on the App Store
WHAT I DO
Product decisions, AI-assisted native development that I direct and review, device testing, and TestFlight and App Store submission

02 — SERVICES

Three things I can take on

Each is agreed in writing before work starts: which build, which device and iOS version, which flows and which networks. Results apply to those conditions.

Release review

The flows that matter, checked on one fixed build before it moves forward.

  • Agreed user journeys and areas changed in this release
  • Subscription purchase, restore and entitlement states
  • TestFlight build and technical release blockers

YOU GETA pass / fail / blocked / not-tested matrix, prioritised issues with steps to reproduce, and what was left out.

Simplified Chinese and network checks

How your app reads and behaves for users in mainland China, on a real iPhone.

  • Simplified Chinese copy in the real interface: truncation, tone, error messages
  • Named API, sign-in and map flows on local Wi-Fi and mobile data
  • Network route recorded with each result

TEST SETUPiPhone 16 · iOS 27.0.1 · China Telecom Wi-Fi and mobile data. Roaming, travel eSIM and ICP filing are not included.

Focused native fixes

A separately quoted repair once a problem has been diagnosed.

  • Swift, StoreKit and project configuration issues
  • Regression checks on the changed build
  • Written notes your engineers can review and merge

CROSS-PLATFORM STACKSReact Native, Capacitor, Flutter: I test and report. I quote fixes only if the diagnosis shows they are within my reach.

03 — HOW WE START

Start small, then continue release by release

I am looking for teams I can work with across many releases. A small paid first step lets us both see whether it works before committing to more.

  1. Paid first review

One build, a fixed list of flows, agreed device and networks, a written report.

Scope, inputs and access agreed first
  2. Scoped fixes

Issues the review confirms are quoted one by one, each with its own acceptance check.

    Only after diagnosis
  3. Next release

Re-run the checklist, check what changed, update last time’s issue log.

Quoted per release while the workload settles
  4. Ongoing arrangement

Once a few releases show a predictable workload, agree a fixed number of hours per cycle.

Based on recorded hours, easy to end

04 — CONTINUITY

What carries over to your next release

Continuity only saves your team time if it is written down. Every review leaves these behind.

  • Release recordBuild, device, iOS version, network, accounts and date for every result.
  • ChecklistThe agreed flows, reused and updated, so you don’t explain the app again.
  • Issue logOpen, fixed, accepted and won’t-fix items carried forward.
  • Regression scopeWhat changed in this build and which checks it affects.
  • Handoff noteShort, written, and enough to act on without a call.

05 — WORKING TOGETHER

How I work, and what I don’t take on

In writing

Briefs, updates, annotated screenshots and screen recordings. My spoken English is basic, so frequent or long video calls are not a good fit.

AI-assisted, personally reviewed

I use AI tools to help read code and draft documents. For private code I use only the tools you approve, and I check every deliverable myself.

Least access

Only the builds, accounts and repository access the agreed task needs. Remove it when the work ends.

NOT OFFERED

  • Unlimited or on-call support
  • Owning your whole product or technical direction
  • Guaranteed App Review approval
  • Fixes quoted before the problem is diagnosed
  • Coverage beyond the agreed devices and networks

Tell me about your next release

A short written brief is enough. I’ll reply with a suggested first scope, or tell you plainly if the work isn’t a good fit for me.

  1. Your app, its stack and where it is distributed
  2. The release, flow or concern to check
  3. Target devices, languages, networks and timing
